📹 Zoo cam bingo
Watch an animal, at the zoo or on a live camera, and look for the things it does: eating, sleeping, playing. Mark them on your bingo card, or tap them to make a bar graph.
How to play
- Print the cards, or use the tally on the screen.
- Watch one animal for ten minutes, at the zoo, in a park, or on a live cam a grown-up opens.
- Each time it does something on your card, mark that square. Three in a row, across, down or corner to corner, and you win.
Be a scientist: keep a tally
Scientists who study animals keep a list of what an animal does and how often. It’s called an ethogram. Tap a button every time you see that behavior, and your taps become a bar graph. Which did your animal do most? Try again at a different time of day: is it the same?
For grown-ups: the live cams
The cam links open the zoos’ own pages in a new tab, after a two-second hold by a grown-up. We never put a live cam on our page, because a live camera can show anything, including animals eating other animals. Watch together the first time. Or play it on a real zoo visit, or with the Animal Bingo cards.
