Gather first

• A tub of water · a bucket or tub, with 8 cups of water
• Dish soap · a third of a cup (plain, not the antibacterial kind)
• Glycerin (from a pharmacy) or light corn syrup · 1 tablespoon
• 2 straight sticks, about as long as your arm
• String or yarn · a long piece (cotton string soaks up the most soap)
• A metal washer or a big nut
• ✂️ Kid scissors

The big idea: Soap makes water stretchy enough to wrap around air.
