The Triassic

The first part of the age of dinosaurs, when the first small, fast dinosaurs appeared.

The middle part of the age of dinosaurs: giant long-necks, plated Stegosaurus and the hunter Allosaurus.

The Cretaceous

The last part: horned faces, duck bills, armoured tanks, T. rex, and the end of the giant dinosaurs.

After the dinosaurs: the Cenozoic

After the giant dinosaurs were gone: the age of mammals, when the giant shark megalodon swam the seas. It is extinct too.

Were pterosaurs, sea reptiles and megalodon dinosaurs?

No. Pteranodon and Quetzalcoatlus flew over the dinosaurs’ heads, and Plesiosaurus, Mosasaurus and Ichthyosaurus swam in the seas, but they were separate groups of reptiles. Megalodon was not even a reptile: it was a shark, a fish, and it lived long after the giant dinosaurs were gone. Birds, on the other hand, really are dinosaurs: the only ones still alive.
