Free games to play at school
These are free games to play at school: 14 learning games that run in a web browser with no sign-up and no download, no ads and nothing scary. Each one practises reading, math or spelling while students play, so they suit a free choice time, a Chromebook cart or an indoor recess. Free through 2026.

A few action games (Sniper, Doomcrawl, Invasion, Last Word, Cell Break and Onslaught) have cartoon fighting or scary parts, so we leave them off the school lists. Every game is in the arcade.
School Chromebook games
Every game runs in a web browser, so a Chromebook with Chrome can open it. A few 3D games run slower on older devices, and we have not tested every school network, so try it on one device first. Many games have sound; headphones help in a shared room.
When to use them
- Free choice time. Students pick a game and the questions do the teaching.
- Early finishers. A short game that still practises something.
- Indoor recess. Fun, with no fighting.
- Review. Fact-fluency and spelling games before a test; see classroom games.
Questions teachers and students ask
Are the games free?
Yes, free through the end of 2026. There are no ads and no card.
Do students need an account?
No. The games open to anyone. An account only keeps a student's progress, with a first name and four numbers and no email.
Can I use them in class?
Peabody has no class codes or teacher dashboard yet. Each student plays on their own; a teacher can show a game on the board or let students open it on their own device.
