About Clank Fling

Clank Fling is a free slingshot game for kids. The tin Clankers have built wobbly forts of crates, wood, stone and ice on three hills, and the child drags the slingshot back, sees the dotted arc and lets go to knock every Clanker off. Before each shot a question loads the slingshot.

Each fort has a few shots, usually three or four. Right the first time loads a special stone: a big rock, a bouncy ball, a seed that splits into three, or an iron ball. Any other answer still loads a pebble that flies, and every fort can be cleared with pebbles alone, so a child who gets every question wrong can still win. Knocking all the Clankers off with fewer shots earns more stars, up to three a fort.

There are twelve forts across three hills: Meadow Hill, Red Canyon and Snowy Peak, with King Clank waiting at the end. Stars open the next hill, eight for Red Canyon and eighteen for Snowy Peak. Coins from each fort buy new slingshots, from the Oak Sling to the Golden Sling. The forts are built with real physics, so blocks tip, slide and tumble the way a child expects, and aiming a little higher or pulling a little less shows cause and effect.

The questions fit the child, from preschool to about fifth grade: counting, sums, letters, sounds and words. Pick Mix, Numbers, Reading or Just play before a fort. In Just play nothing is asked and every other stone is a special one.

Clank Fling plays in the browser with no download, no sign-up and no ads. On a phone or tablet, drag the slingshot back with a finger; on a computer, drag with the mouse. Stars, coins and slingshots are kept in this browser, and on the child's profile when they are signed in.

Questions grown-ups ask

Is Clank Fling free?

Yes. Clank Fling is free to play in the browser, with no sign-up, no download and no ads. Coins are earned in the game and only buy slingshots.

Can my child clear a fort without answering right?

Yes. A wrong answer still loads a plain pebble, and every fort can be cleared with pebbles alone. Right answers load special stones and make it easier.

What does Clank Fling practice?

A question comes before each shot, at your child's level: counting, sums, letters, sounds or words, from preschool to about fifth grade. Aiming the slingshot also shows how a push makes things move and fall.
