About Glow Trail

Glow Trail is a free glow-worm game for kids. The child steers a glowing worm round a night meadow with eight critter worms, eats glow-dots to grow, and keeps its head off the other worms. Questions come as three big glowing orbs ahead: steer into the right one to grow fast.

The worm follows the child's finger or the mouse, or the arrow keys on a computer. Holding the Zoom button, the space bar or a second finger goes faster for a little of the worm's length. Every glow-dot eaten makes the worm a little longer, and the longest worms in the meadow are shown in the corner. If the worm's head bumps into another worm's body, it pops into sparkles and the round ends; when another worm pops, its body turns into big glow-dots to eat.

Every so often a question appears with three big answer boxes, and three glowing orbs light up ahead of the worm, one for each answer. Steer into the right orb, or tap its box, for a growth spurt and a sparkle trail. A wrong orb fades and the question stays open for another try. While a question is open the critter worms give the child room, and when something is new to the child its orbs wait for as long as it takes. Ten questions, or a pop, end a round.

Coins come from the worm's length, right answers and finishing among the longest, and they buy glow skins, from Mint Glow to Rainbow. The questions fit the child, from preschool to about fifth grade: counting, sums, letters, sounds and words. In Just play nothing is asked and a round lasts three minutes.

Glow Trail plays in the browser with no download, no sign-up and no ads, and there is no chat. The other worms are friendly computer critters, not other people. Coins and skins are kept in this browser, and on the child's profile when they are signed in.

Questions grown-ups ask

Is Glow Trail free?

Yes. Glow Trail is free to play in the browser, with no sign-up, no download and no ads. Coins are earned in the game and only buy glow skins.

Does my child play with strangers?

No. The other worms in the meadow are computer critters, and there is no chat of any kind. Your child only ever sees their own worm and the critters.

What does Glow Trail practice?

Questions come as three glowing orbs at your child's level: counting, sums, letters, sounds or words, from preschool to about fifth grade. A wrong orb only fades, and new things never have a clock.
