Poki

By Poki B.V.. Visit Poki

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

A very popular free browser games site from the Netherlands with thousands of games from outside developers: runners like Subway Surfers, .io battle games, driving, puzzles, dress-up and shooting games. It plays instantly with no download. Poki's terms say the main site is for ages 16 and up; for younger kids it runs a separate Poki Kids site with a small curated set of simple games, no ads, no login and no chat.

Our take: Children should use Poki Kids, not Poki.com, which its own terms reserve for ages 16 and up.

Checked in a browser

A browser check on 2026-10-25: what loads, the ads and trackers we saw, and what a child meets first. Not a hands-on test.

Child safety: 3 out of 5No ads on the home page itself, but the first screen offers online .io multiplayer games and titles like Theft City and Steal a Brainrot, and Poki's own terms put the main site at 16+.
Data: 2 out of 5No ad slots loaded, but a Google Ads tag (ad.doubleclick.net, googleads.g.doubleclick.net, _gcl_au cookie) and a script from bzr.openai.com set cookies alongside Google Tag Manager; these ad trackers fired but no ad was shown on the page. (Aligned with the other checks: a Google Ads tag loading counts as an ad network present, even with no ad shown.)
Ease: 4 out of 5Big, colorful game tiles grouped in rows (.io, Educational, Beauty, Car games) with a simple top bar.
Cost honesty: 5 out of 5Free; no upgrade or price shown.

What we found

  • 9 third-party hosts on 6 sites; 14 cookies, 2 of them set by doubleclick.net and openai.com.
  • 0 ad frames on the home page (ads inside games were not tested; the check clicked nothing).
  • The first rows mix educational games with .io multiplayer games (MineFun.io, Monkey Tag IO, Hole.io) and beauty and dress-up games.
  • Links out to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

From the test: Easy to browse and no ads on the front page, but it is a general game portal (16+ by its own terms) with online multiplayer games mixed in among the learning ones.
