Squaredle
By Squaredle. Visit Squaredle
Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.
A daily word-search puzzle played in a web browser. Players find words by linking neighboring letters in any direction on a square grid; squares fade once every word using them is found. A new puzzle comes out each day, easiest on Monday, with hints after twelve hours, a leaderboard, achievements and special puzzles. Valid words come from the official North American Scrabble word list. The paid Squaredle Squared tier removes ads and opens the archive.
Our take: A good daily word habit for teens and families playing together; under-13s are outside its terms.
Checked in a browser
A browser check on 2026-10-25: what loads, the ads and trackers we saw, and what a child meets first. Not a hands-on test.
| Child safety: 3 out of 5 | No ad appeared on the first screen, but Google's ad servers loaded; links out to Discord and Reddit communities. |
|---|---|
| Data: 2 out of 5 | Google's ad network (ad.doubleclick.net, googleads) loaded and set a cookie before consent, with Google Analytics; no ad was shown. |
| Ease: 5 out of 5 | A big friendly tutorial: 'Swipe through the letters PLAY' on large tiles. |
| Cost honesty: 4 out of 5 | Free to play; a Ko-fi tip link. |
What we found
- 7 third-party hosts on 4 sites, all Google
- Google ad hosts ad.doubleclick.net and googleads.g.doubleclick.net contacted; a doubleclick.net cookie was set
- No ad frames on the first screen
- Outbound links include discord.gg, reddit.com and ko-fi.com
From the test: An easy-to-start word puzzle; this check saw Google ad servers load but no ads on the first screen.

| What its terms say about age | The terms say users must be at least 13 in the US (16 in the EU and UK), and under-18s need a parent or guardian to agree to the terms for them. (terms) |
| Price | Free, with paid extras. Free daily puzzle with ads; Squaredle Squared is a monthly or yearly subscription whose price is shown at sign-up, not on the pages I loaded; a Ko-fi supporter tier starts at $6 a month (Oct 2026). |
