Space print sheets
Five sheets, one page each, black on white. Two go outside with you, three are for a cloudy night.
- Tonight's sky sheetA Moon to colour as you see it, a compass with tonight's planets, three ticks and a line for what you saw.
- The Moon journalThirty blank Moons, one a night: colour the part you see and write the date.
- The shower night kitA box for every ten minutes of a meteor shower, the brightest one, and the clouds.
- Star pattern cardsSix cards to cut out: the Big Dipper, Orion, Cassiopeia, the Summer Triangle, Leo and the Pleiades, drawn from the stars' real positions.
- The planets in orderThe eight planets in order from the Sun, with each one's distance, and the same eight in size order, biggest first.
How to use the sheets
Each sheet is one Letter or A4 page in black and white, so it prints on any home or school printer. Tonight's sheet and the shower night kit go outside on a clipboard; the Moon journal lives by the back door for a month; the star pattern cards are cut out and held up to the sky; the planets strip goes on the wall. Teachers can find all five, with the ten space quizzes, in the Space pack on Peabody Teach. Nothing on a sheet names your child or your town.
