Free books for kindergarteners: stories at the first reading level
Peabody's library has free stories at the first reading level, with a picture on each page. A child can read them online, with no sign-up.
Level 0 stories
The first-level stories are short, with a few words on a page. They suit a child who is just starting to read.
Stories by level
When a child is ready for more, the stories move up one reading level at a time.
