Levels were renumbered on 27 October 2026: levels 0, 1 and 2 are new, and level 6 is a new bridge. Levels 0 to 2 are the first books a child can sound out.

Free early reader reading stories for kids (level 0)

Level 0 is for a child who cannot read yet. Every book uses only eight letters (m, a, s, t, p, i, n and d) and the little words a and I, with a few words on a page and a picture on every page. Each word comes back again and again, so a new reader can sound it out and then know it. They read well aloud with a grown-up.
