Adobe Express for Education

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

The free K-12 version of Adobe's design app. Students make posters, videos, slides and web pages from templates, and join a class with a code; teachers assign and review work, including through Google Classroom. Schools own the accounts. Firefly generative AI (images and text) is on by default for K-12 teachers and students, with guardrails on prompts and results, and district admins can switch it off.

Our take: A good free option for schools that want design and AI in one tool and will set the admin controls; families cannot set it up for a young child on their own.

What's good

  • Free for K-12 with Premium assets
  • Safe search and AI guardrails for students
  • Schools own and control accounts
  • Clear no-ads-to-students promise

  • Easy to make a polished project with little original work
  • Parents must ask the school which settings are on

Data and privacy

Adobe says student data is not sold, not used to build ad profiles, and not used to target ads or marketing to students; schools control what personal details are used. Firefly was trained mainly on Adobe Stock, openly licensed and public domain content. Read the privacy policy.
