AI sites and apps

Top 20 AI sites for learning for kids (2026)

This is our short list for parents who want AI to help a child learn, not to do the work for them. The best picks here either teach how AI works (kids train their own models), use AI quietly in the background (an app that listens to a child read, or names a bird by its song), or guide with questions instead of handing over answers. Most are free. A few need a grown-up's account. Watch for age rules in the terms, microphones and cameras, and anything that turns into a subscription after a trial.

We picked sites that teach something real, have a clear age policy, and were still running in October 2026. Prices were checked in October 2026 and change often. Checked 2026-10-24. Nobody paid to be here and nothing is an affiliate link.

Khan Academy ยท Khanmigo about $4/month or $44/year (Oct 2026); Khan Academy free ยท Ages Grade school to high school

Free Khan Academy lessons and practice, plus Khanmigo, a tutor that gives hints that get stronger instead of giving answers. The parent plan lets you read your child's chats and get safety alerts.

  2. Seek by iNaturalist

iNaturalist ยท Free ยท Ages All ages

Point the camera at a plant, bug or bird and Seek names it, then awards badges for what you find. No account is needed, and it does not collect data by default.
