10 meteor showers, best to worst for kids
Ranked by a rule, not taste: the shower's best hourly rate (the American Meteor Society's) cut by how much Moon is up on its next peak night (from our sky table). A waxing Moon under about half lit sets before midnight and doesn't count against it.
How it's ordered: Rate × (1 − 0.8 × the Moon in the way), next peak night; the top ten of twelve.
