For grown-ups

Homework goes better in short blocks with a break between them, and the right block for a first grader is not the right block for an eighth grader. Pick the grade and the routine sets the work blocks and wiggle breaks to match.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Pick the grade under the steps: K to 2nd grade work 10 minutes and wiggle 3, 3rd to 5th work 15 and wiggle 5, 6th to 8th work 25 and rest 5.
  • Snack first: hungry children don't focus.
  • Tap Done when the homework is finished early; the routine moves on to the break.
  • Add another homework block from the step cards on a heavy night.
  • Play comes last, so there is something to work towards.

Questions

How long should homework blocks be?

Short blocks with breaks work for most children, a kid-sized version of the Pomodoro technique. We start at 10 minutes for the youngest and 25 for middle school; change any step to suit your child.

Does it know my child's grade?

If your child is signed in to Peabody and has told us their grade, the blocks start at that size. Otherwise pick the grade on the page.

What happens in the wiggle break?

Popcorn pops while your child jumps, shakes and stretches; Peabody says when it is time to sit back down.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no sign-up, nothing to download.

For grown-ups: Peabody has no ads, not one, and nothing to sell your child. The Kids Pick, an independent kids' directory, rates its games 90/100. See what other free kids' sites load · Grown-ups, sign in · Already have a profile?
