For grown-ups

A one-minute wiggle between bits of work wakes a child up better than a long break. The popcorn pot pops a kernel at a time while your child jumps, shakes and wiggles, and the lid flies off when the minute is up.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Pop like popcorn: crouch down small, then jump up every time a kernel pops.
  • Do it between homework blocks or every couple of chapters of reading.
  • Turn on Peabody counts for a loud ten-second countdown at the end.
  • Make it two minutes for a dance party.
  • End with one slow breath, then back to work.

Questions

How long should a brain break be?

Short ones work well: one to three minutes of moving is enough to reset for most children.

Can a class use it?

Yes. Press Full screen on a projector and the popcorn fills the board.

Is there music?

There is a pop sound at the end and Peabody can count down, but no music track. Put on your own song: one song is about three minutes.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no sign-up, nothing to download.

For grown-ups: Peabody has no ads, not one, and nothing to sell your child. The Kids Pick, an independent kids' directory, rates its games 90/100. See what other free kids' sites load · Grown-ups, sign in · Already have a profile?
