For grown-ups

The last ten minutes before bed go better when the end is not a surprise. Put on the koi pond, turn the volume to soft, and let your child watch the fish finish their supper while they wind down.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Choose Soft volume and turn Peabody quiet for a calm ending.
  • Use it for the step that drags: the last story, pajamas, the drink of water.
  • Dim the screen, or turn the tablet away once it's running, so the light does not keep them awake.
  • Say what happens at the end before you start: 'when the fish have eaten, it's lights out'.
  • The same timer every night becomes part of the routine, so the end feels normal.

Questions

Is a screen at bedtime a good idea?

Screens before sleep are best kept short and dim. This page needs no watching: once it's running you can turn the screen away and listen for the soft sound.

Can I turn off the sound?

Yes. Sound and more has the switch and three volumes; the koi pond's sound is a gentle plop.

Does the screen stay on?

While the timer runs the page keeps the screen awake. Pause it and the screen can sleep again.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no sign-up, nothing to download.

For grown-ups: Peabody has no ads, not one, and nothing to sell your child. The Kids Pick, an independent kids' directory, rates its games 90/100. See what other free kids' sites load · Grown-ups, sign in · Already have a profile?
